Ltm-Type 1910 wagon with brakeman's cab

The Italian State Railways Ltm-type wagon was used to transport coal and similar materials, but given the presence of side doors, it could also be used for different types of goods. The wagon has a metal supporting structure and a wooden slatted body. At the beginning of its career, the braking system was controlled exclusively from the cab and there was no through pipe. In the 1930s, compressed air pipes and Breda-type braking systems were added to the wagons still in service. Another modification made during that period was the removal of the tyre support tube and the consequent change of marking from Ltm to L.

They were in service between the 1910s and the 1960s, with some examples surviving until the 1970s. Despite their long period of service, they never received uniform markings, but always retained the Fs Italia markings.

The livery did not undergo any significant changes over the years, with the body in wagon red and the underbody in black.
